Big Dog Demolition continues to cover the entire Southeast.
The Naval Air Force Base in Pensacola, Florida for
Winter Construction is Big Dog’s latest project.
This scope of work included the demolition of 6 sea plane ramps
as well as 8 buildings totaling 350,000 square feet. In addition 250,000
sq. ft of concrete and asphalt was removed and recycled for future use
as road base. This project required the use of 12 machines including
our
newest 125,000 lb. long reach excavator with attached custom shear.
We were required to save several items of historic value for
the Naval Base. These items included keystones, pre-cast
window sills, and 2,000 square feet of original brick.
The Naval Air Force Base as a LEEDS project, whereas stringent
requirements specify that 50% of project debris must be recycled.
Big Dog Demolition is proud to state that over 90% of the building
debris was recycled.
This project was safely accomplished 5 weeks ahead
of the scheduled completion date.
