State Bar of Georgia Parking Deck Demolition
Atlanta, GA
This seven-story, concrete parking deck located just inches from the State
Bar Building offered many sets of challenges. The site conditions only
allowed us to work from the front side of the deck, due to the existing
building on one side and a major street on the other. Also, the parking
deck dropped down 18 feet to an alley with delivery trucks moving in and
out 24 hours a day. We were able to drop the upper decks and use that
material for filling in the basement level and sub-grade level decks.
This Skanska project was completed without any damage to the existing
building or shut down of business below the the structure.
